Litherland Coronation Festivities — Grand Fete & Sports
The days events included a concert given by the St Alphonsus Brass Band and children's sports events with boy and girl teams, ages ranging from 5 to 13. Five schools in the district competed: Lander Road School, Mission Hall School, St Sepulchre's(Ford), St Philip's School and Scarisbrick Avenue Board School.

The sports events weren't open to all, but were confined to children whose names were on the school registers of the five schools listed above. Every child whom competed is listed in the programme. The programme below runs to 22 pages and is supported by local advertising: Watt's Tobacconist-Bridge Road, Mason's Bakery-Linacre Road, Collin's Cycles-Bridge Road etc.
