LITHERLAND AT WAR
1939—1945

Merseyside May Blitz 1941
4th May

66-72 Bridge Road

Report: H.E. (high explosion) bomb - Several persons trapped and rescued - Minor casualties.
The site of the present day medical centre on the corner of Penrhyn Avenue.

Note the old man eyeing up the Corn Flakes, Typhoo tea and the old style biscuit tins piled up on the left - They'd have supplemented his rations nicely.
